Andrew Brons on Proposed BBC Panorama Programme

By Andrew Brons MEP.
Members will know that the BBC Panorama team proposes to show a programme critical of the party’s finances and of our chairman’s handling thereof and his Euro-funding in particular.
I have been invited to take part in the programme and I have declined.
The BBC is no friend of our party or of British nationalism.
Furthermore, this is not a live programme in which we can show ourselves the equals of BBC interviewers.
It will be a programme of recorded interviews in which the answers can be cut and pasted and placed next to unrelated questions.
However, I have simply declined the invitation without any elaboration or qualification.
I would not have introduced a BBC film crew to 30 of our less restrained members, so that they could be filmed acting in an aggressive manner that would only bring the party into disrepute.
I should also have refrained from making adolescent denunciations of the BBC crew.
