Tuesday, 3 January, 2012
A woman accused of racially abusing passengers on a Croydon tram is to appear at the Crown Court next month.
Emma West of New Addington, was charged with a racially aggravated public order offence after a video of the racist rant was posted on YouTube on November 27, 2011.
The two and a half minute video went viral and was viewed more than 2.2 million times in 24 hours.
A further charged was put to the 34-year-old mother today at Croydon Magistrates Court.
She gave no indication of plea to the charge of a racially aggravated public order offence, with intent to cause fear or provocation of violence.
Miss West chose to have the additional charge heard at Croydon Crown Court, where she will appear on February 17.
