Andrew Brons: nominate Richard Edmonds
Andrew Brons doubts that Griffin will see sense and learn to manage internal dissent in an enlightened manner, as befits the leader of a political party that claims to believe in democracy. If Griffin fails to mend his ways then Andrew recommends that every member of the British National Party with at least two years' continuous membership sign Richard Edmonds' nomination form, as Andrew shall and vote for Richard in the subsequent leadership election.
Andrew points out that Griffin's incorrigible factiousness is destroying the BNP, just as it destroyed the National Front in 1986-89. Andrew blames Griffin's recycled svengali, Harrington, for this but wrongly and either naively or disingenuously. The root of the problem is, as John Tyndall correctly diagnosed it in a brilliant article in Spearhead ("The Problem is Mr Griffin", October 2003), Griffin's destructive, and self-destructive, personality.
