Nick Griffin showing grace under fire |
However, when Adam Walker read out the extract relating to him and his brother, at the Leicester hustings, I said that it was appalling and that I did not believe it.
A copy of the booklet was passed to me by Nick Griffin, at the Leicester hustings but he took it back before I could read it.
The coverage relating to Clive Jefferson was unfair, because it implied that the headline from the Northern Echo related to him. In fact, Mr Jefferson was acquitted at the trial, and it was his co-defendant who was convicted.
I do not have the resources to check whether or not the other personal attacks are correct and I do not have the responsibility for doing so.
Both Nick Griffin and I suspect the same individuals to be responsible for the booklet and they are neither members of his team or mine. I have no more responsibility for checking the content of third party publications than he has.
Nick Griffin alleged that my webmaster had failed to remove a posting, on BNP Ideas, alleging that the Griffin team had been responsible for the booklet. He was wrong; it had been removed.
Nick Griffin alleged that there was a posting on the BNP Ideas website, calling on people to distribute the booklet. Mr. Griffin was wrong again; there was no such posting.
I have been asked to visit the Cumbria office so that the Treasurer can persuade me to believe his abbreviated version of the Party’s debts.
How can I trust a Treasurer who fabricates invoices retrospectively, so that he can get me to spend European Parliamentary money improperly?
How can I trust a Treasurer who told my son-in-law in relation to the Euro money that, quote “Andrew’s too honest; that’s the trouble” ? (10th July Swindon).
Nick Griffin’s team – principally his Euro-employee Patrick Harrington, has been used to spread Searchlight and other propaganda about me, my family and campaign team, on the internet.
One of the smear websites contained a reference to the fact that my daughter was unexpectedly in Strasbourg. Only our office and Nick Griffin’s office knew of her presence there.
Mr. Griffin refuses to accept the enormities committed by his own staff and colleagues but he holds me to be responsible for a booklet that we both know to be the work of third parties.
Mr. Griffin talks about reconciliation and co-operation but his actions are leading towards a conflict that will be increasingly difficult to resolve. He is demonstrating for all to see what a divisive force he is.

This is all very well but I notice that Mr Griffin has been very careful to avoid responding to the allegations made in the booklet concerning the alleged criminal and unsavioury connections of those on his team, nor has he even attempted to deny the debts owed to the companies and individuals listed on an individual basis, nor has he said anything about the party’s shocking accounting, the appointment of people totally unsuited to be party treasurers, nor the alleged multitude of mysterious bank accounts and who has access to them.
Until such time as he does and what he claims can be ratified, then we can only assume that the contents of the booklet are, by and large, true.
Furthermore far from accepting responsibility for the mess the party is in, as any chairman of integrity would, he has not even bothered to apologize to the membership for his failings. Clearly wherever “the buck” stops – he intends that it will never stop with him!
If Mr Griffin wants to regain some credibility then he should call in a team of forensic auditors from a reputable firm of accountants to analyse the party’s financial records. Why he has not already done this (and why he clearly has no plans so to do) is a question that only he can answer – although I have my suspicions. Perhaps it’s a question that Mr. Brons should put to him?
Should Mr. Brons win the leadership race then I hope that forensic auditors will be brought in, followed by the Fraud Squad if necessary. It is only right that members should get an answer to the much voiced question – WHERE HAS OUR MONEY GONE?

First we are told to disregard the 3rd party booklet, and then we find Griffin trotting around the hustings wearing it like a badge and making his belated (as ever, lastminuteGri££in .com) campaign video of it, what are we to make of that? It is clear that Griffin is rattled in the extreme, this is, one leadership challenge to far, for him. Can he see his personal ownership of the ‘Family Business BNP Enterprises’ slipping from his grasp? It’s time to go Gri££in. What we, the British National Party, need at the helm in these troubled waters, is not the snarling gruesome manic head we see on your campaign video Gri££in, rather the calm and collective head of a Statesman steering the good ship BNP to our chosen destination, calmly and timely as we see on Andrews video.
