Andrew Brons MEP has announced that he is taking legal opinion after the BNP head office lie machine went into overdrive tonight on the party’s website.
Until now, all stories concerning the leadership challenge posted on the BNP website have had their comments disabled. The story put up this evening which contained links to the 500 word statements by each candidate has been deliberately left open for comments.
It was almost immediately flooded by a wave of obviously fake comments, strongly reminiscent of language used by non-party member and long-time disrupter of nationalist politics, Patrick Harrington, all condemning Mr Brons – and making up the most outrageous lies.
This action is another clear and obvious breach of the election rules as drawn up by Nick Griffin and Mr Harrington (the day before they were sent out to the members, as revealed by John Walker at last month’s General Members’ Meeting).
A complaint has already been laid with the returning officer, Geof Dickens, who undertook to call the national elections officer Clive Jefferson.
Mr Brons told BNP Ideas tonight that he was consulting with legal opinion in the light of the repeated breaches of the rules by BNP head office.
“Mr Harrington was in Strasbourg this week and used a good deal of his time to scribble smears on internet forums, all with the obvious acquiescence of Mr Griffin,” Mr Brons said. “Information contained in these smears could only have been obtained by Mr Griffin’s office in Strasbourg.
In particular, the presence of Mr Brons’s daughter in Strasbourg was something which nobody except Mr Griffin and Mr Harrington knew about.
“Amongst the lies put out are ones that I employ my daughter and son-in-law for £30,000 each on the EU payroll.
“I do not employ my daughter on the EU payroll, or in any other way. In fact, it would be illegal for me to do so, in terms of EU rules. My son-in-law is paid £6K a year as a driver, for which he works 16 hours per week.
“We have kept careful track of Mr Harrington’s smears on various forums, and this, along with the most recent outrageous abuse of the BNP website to artificially attack me under a range of obvious pseudonyms, will form the basis of our considered legal opinion.
“Readers of the latest story on the BNP website will immediately see that almost none of the people leaving ‘comments’ on the story mentioned above have ever been registered before and are all obvious ‘new’ inventions.
“We should never be astounded by the depths to which Mr Griffin’s entourage can sink,” Mr Brons concluded.

The comments section was rigged because i logged in twice to post but they did not get approved. The only comments approved were those insulting Andrew Brons. So of course i will be sending a complaint. I should also point out – the comments should have be disabled in the first place. I also can confirm 90% of those users leaving nasty comments against Andrew Brons were fake. I should know since i’m a regular on the BNP page and weekly leave a comment or two, none of those accounts have ever posted before. Even their names give it away, they are silly random names like ”sheep” with digits after them.
